Introduction: Dr. Zhang Jianmin graduated from Zhejiang University (formerly known as Zhejiang Medical University) in 1983 and studied in Germany in 1989. He is currently the head of the Department of Neurosurgery of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and head of the Brain Center, head of the Cerebral Vascular Intervention Center, head of the Brain Glioma Center and also the head of the Department of Neurosurgery of The Fourth Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Neurosurgical Society and the vice chairman of the Cerebrovascular Group, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese College of Surgeons and the vice chairman of the Cerebrovascular Group, a member of the Standing Committee of the World Neurosurgical Association of China, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, a member of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, a member of the Chinese Society of Neuro-oncology, the chairman of Zhejiang Neurosurgical Society, a member of Zhejiang Anticancer Association, the chairman of Zhejiang Society of Neuro-oncology, and executive deputy director of Zhejiang Neurosurgery Technical Guidance Center and the head of the Expert Committee, etc. In addition, he is also an editorial board member and reviewer of the Journal of International Neurology and Neurosurgery, Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, Chinese Journal of Neurosurgery, Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine, Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, NEUROSURGERY Chinese Edition, etc. 
Academics and achievements: He has been engaged in neurosurgery for 31 years and once studied in Germany and majored in basic and clinical microneurosurgery. He has rich clinical experience and profound accomplishments in the treatment of complex and difficult neurosurgerical lesions. He is especially skilled in microneurosurgery, such as microsurgery of pituitary tumors, aneurysms and skull base lesions, and has enjoyed a good reputation in China. He was appraised as one of 2013 Top 100 Chinese Famous Doctors in Cerebral Aneurysm and TOP 10 Doctors in Cerebral Vascular Malformation Surgery. He has also made great achievements in clinical treatment and rehabilitation of craniocerebral injury. As the chief expert, he organized the relevant experts of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine to treat and cure Niuniu who was caught by the Most Beautiful Mother Wu Juping when she fell from a building, achieved a rather satisfactory rehabilitation result and thus was highly praised and affirmed by his peers and all circles of the society. He successively presided over nearly 10 national and provincial major projects including projects in the "863" Program, published over 70 papers in SCI and national magazines, and took part in the compilation of 4 monographs and textbooks. Further, he was granted three prizes including a third prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province and a first prize of the Medical Science and Technology Progress Award and also two national patents.
