The Department of Endocrinology
of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine has
got strong support from the Department of Endocrinology of Sir Run Run Shaw
Hospital Zhejiang University, School of Medicine. And now there are 11
physicians, where 3 of them have senior professional titles, 2 with
intermediate titles, 5 with primary titles and 1 technician. All the physicians
have received doctoral or master’s degree. Currently the executive director of
the Department is associate chief physician WU Fang who concurrently assumes
the post of associate chief physician of the Department of Endocrinology of Sir
Run Run Shaw Hospital Zhejiang University, School of Medicine and member of Diabetic
Retinopathy Group, Chinese Diabetes Society. The Department is experienced in
clinical diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and its complications management, refractory
hyperthyroidism, hyperthyroidism-related oculopathy, thyroiditis, and endocrine
metabolic diseases like hypophysis, adrenal gland, osteoporosis and gout.
Moreover, the Department of Endocrinology established general endocrinology
clinic, thyroid clinic, joint diabetes clinic, expert clinic & famous
doctor clinic. The specialist clinic is open from Monday to Sunday.
Introduction to the Department features
(1) Integrated control of diabetes and its complications: furnish quality team service,
integrating diabetes education, treatment and nursing, focus on multidisciplinary
collaboration, offer customized therapy for each diabetes patient and lay
foundation for diagnosis, treatment and research of special types of diabetes.
(2) Extensive clinical experience in diagnosing and treating thyroid
diseases (hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, subacute
thyroiditis and thyroid nodule) and hyperthyroidism exophthalmos.
(3) Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis: rich clinical
experience in screening and treatment of primary and secondary osteoporosis.
(4) Diagnosis and treatment of other difficult and miscellaneous
endocrine metabolic diseases: experienced in diagnosing and treating adrenal
gland, parathyroid glands, hypothalamic-pituitary disease, endocrine hypertension,
hypokalemia, HLP, gout and adiposis.
