The
Anesthesiology Department of The Fourth Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University
School of Medicine is a key medical discipline in Yiwu City and integrates
medical treatment, teaching and scientific research with strong strength. The
department mainly provides clinical anesthesia (anesthesia clinic), painless
diagnosis and treatment, pain diagnosis and treatment and in-hospital first aid
services, etc. and acts as one of the important links of the hospital. The
department is equipped with advanced medical equipment, 25 high-end integrated
operating rooms (including 5 outpatient operating rooms), 1 anesthesia
preparation room and 1 anesthesia recovery room and also configured with
advanced GE Datex-Ohmeda anesthesia machines, SonoSite color dopplers, CATS blood
recovery machines, automated anesthesia rooms and various monitoring and rescue
equipment, etc. Thus, the department can meet the needs of various surgical
anesthesia. With strong technical strength, the department has walked ahead in
the region in various clinical technologies, such as clinical anesthesia for
patients with critical and difficult conditions, clinical anesthesia of heart
and cardiac vessels, diagnosis of patients with complex and difficult pains,
and perioperative transesophageal ultrasound monitoring. At present, the
department has 1 chief physician, 3 associate chief physicians, 5 attending
physicians and 15 resident physicians (including 1 doctor and 5 masters).
Major
research directions: Perioperative protection of tissues and organs, research
on anesthesia-related pharmacology and toxicology, and monitoring of noxious
stimuli during perioperative period. At present, the department undertakes 2
programs sponsored by the Department of Health of Zhejiang Province, 1 program
sponsored by the Science and Technology Department of Jinhua City and organizes
1 national-level study class and 1 provincial-level study class. By now, the
department has published 3 monographs and over 10 academic papers in core
journals at home and abroad.
Introduction to the Department features
1.
Clinical anesthesia for senile and high-risk patients, patients with large
tumors, patients with complex posterior fossa tumors, patients with severe
trauma and multiple injuries and patients with critical and difficult
conditions; 2. Clinical anesthesia of heart and cardiac vessels for patients to
receive ascending aorta replacement, senile patients to receive low cardiac
output double valve replacement, patients with mediastinal tumor involving
right atrium, patients to receive off-pump coronary artery graft bypass,
patients with complex pulmonary artery-coronary artery leak, as well as
patients to receive various rheumatic valve replacement; 3. Intrathecal pump
implantation, CT-guided celiac plexus destruction, selective spinal nerve root
block, silver needle therapy for myofascitis, ultrasound-guided stenosing
tenosynovitis lysis, and radiofrequency modulation of the greater occipital
nerve; 4. The department has taken the lead in the region in a variety of
clinical technologies, such as ultrasound-guided nerve block, perioperative
blood protection and anesthesiologist-led perioperative transesophageal
ultrasound monitoring.
