The Department of Infectious Diseases
of The Fourth Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine is
devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of various types of liver diseases and
infectious diseases. At present, the department has 1 chief physician, 2
associate chief physicians, 3 attending physicians, and 8 resident physicians,
all with a master's degree or above, including 2 doctors. Among them, one chief
physician and one associate chief physician also work for the Department of
Infectious Diseases of the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University, the
largest hospital in the same discipline in China. In April 2018, one
high-caliber talent was introduced from The First Hospital Affiliated to AMU
and the Clinical Cure Project of Hepatitis B was carried out in The Fourth
Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine. A branch center of
the Chinese Foundation for Hepatitis Prevention and Control has been set up in
our department and successfully cured 9 patients with chronic hepatitis B. We
have extensive clinical experience in the treatment of various types of viral
hepatitis, fatty liver, alcoholic liver, autoimmune liver disease, cirrhosis
and so on. In addition to our young talents team and strong technical strength,
we have set up a specialist clinic, general clinic, liver disease clinic, fever
clinic, intestinal clinic and other special infectious disease clinics. We have
upheld the service tenet of "being patient-oriented" and followed the
construction concept of "putting the same emphasis on diagnosis and
treatment and prevention and control" in a bid to "grow into an
infectious disease diagnosis and treatment center leading in both middle
Zhejiang and China as early as possible and better serve more patients.
Introduction to the Department features

Various types of liver diseases and viral hepatitis: We have a national
sub-center of clinical cure (Zhufeng) program of chronic hepatitis B and have
rich experience in and in-depth research on antiviral precise treatment of
chronic hepatitis B, maternal and child blockade of chronic hepatitis B during
pregnancy, antiviral treatment of hepatitis C and hepatic failure. We are able
to receive and cure various types of patients with viral hepatitis and also to
rescue patients with liver failure. At the same time, we carry out hepatitis B
patient education from time to time to help patients properly understand
diseases and self-management and improve the quality of life. We also make
researches on the resistance mechanism of interferons and HBV nucleoside (acid)
drugs.
(2) Rational
application of antibiotics and diagnosis and treatment of multi-drug resistant
bacteria: Our department will focus on the monitoring of bacterial drug
resistance and the study of resistance mechanisms to better treat and cure patients
with severe infections caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria and super
bacteria.
