The Department of Mental Health in ourhospital is established with full assistance of the Psychiatry Department of TheSecond Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Thedepartment is now home to 9 physicians, 1 psychotherapist and 1 psycho-technologist,among whom there is 1 chief physician, 4 deputy chief physicians and 4 residentphysicians; 4 doctoral degree holders and 3 master’s degree holders.
Chief physician LIU Weibo and deputy chiefphysician LU Yunrong from Psychiatry Department of The Second AffiliatedHospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine are respectively our department’sacademic leader and executive director; deputy chief physician MA Ying and CHENQiaozhen from The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School ofMedicine come to our department to see patients at a regular basis. Thedepartment takes humanistic care and homogeneous quality service as its tenetof diagnosis & treatment. Being equipped with such advanced equipment asRepetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator (rTMS), Mental Pressure Analyzerand Acupoint Regulation & Treatment Instrument, in combination with drugtherapy, physical therapy and psychotherapy, the department can solve all kindsof mental and psychological problems by multiple ways. In addition, togetherwith Department of Psychiatry, University of Alberta, Canada, it also establishesa long-term training program for young physicians to promote the internationaldevelopment of the discipline.
Introduction to the Department features
(1)Psychiatric clinic: Being committed to earlydiagnosis and intervention of various mental and psychological diseases(including anxiety, depression, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia,obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, adjustment disorder, Alzheimer’sdisease, attention deficit, tic disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia and othermental disorders caused by various physical diseases) so as to reduce diseaserecurrence, chronicity, and impaired social function;
(2)Psychological clinic: Focusing onsolving psychological problems of the general population like adolescentproblems (adolescent rebellion, weary of learning, addiction to internet, puppylove, learning pressure, etc.), gender relations (frustrated relationship, maritaltension, marriage crisis and divorce ) and sexual psychological disordersmainly based on appointment-based psychological counseling and treatmentservices;
(3)Sleep clinic: Scientifically treatingsleep disorders (such as insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep-wake rhythm disorder,sleepwalking, night terror and nightmare) and other sleep-related diseases;
(4)Mental health service: The departmentregularly performs health education activities to the general public, providinggroup psychological counseling for social high-pressure groups such asadolescents, medical staff, etc., to extend psychological services and contributeto the society.
